Jim Dallas has enjoyed an eclectic career as a performing musician and in arts management. Dallas holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami and a Masters from Philadelphia’s University of the Arts.
Jim was the founding principal percussionist and personnel manager of the Naples Philharmonic, a tenure that lasted for 38 years. He was instrumental in the transition of the Naples Philharmonic to a full-time orchestra and assisted in the development of several of the orchestra’s educational programs. Jim has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Philly and at Carnegie Hall, and with countless other orchestra, ballet, and opera companies.
He especially enjoyed getting to play for dozens of Broadway shows and Broadway artists in regional theater and for national tours at Artis—Naples. “I was introduced to musical theater by my uncle at a very early age. He nurtured my lifelong appreciation for the symphony, dance and opera but the theater has remained my passion. I am thrilled to be a part of this magnificent team at Gulfshore Playhouse.”
