Growing Up at the Conservatory: Gulfshore Playhouse Celebrates Returning Students in Seussical JR.
Gulfshore Playhouse proudly announces the upcoming production of Seussical JR., showcasing the remarkable talents nurtured within its esteemed Conservatory program. Many of the young performers involved in Seussical JR. have been longtime members of the Gulfshore Playhouse family, having honed their skills through the Gulfshore Playhouse Education community’s Conservatory over the years.
“At Gulfshore Playhouse, students become part of a close-knit community dedicated to inclusivity and excellence,” remarked John Perine, Education Associate at Gulfshore Playhouse. “I’ve had the privilege of witnessing our returning students evolve year after year into confident performers, drawing from the wisdom imparted by our distinguished directors, music directors, and choreographers from New York City and across the country.”
“My daughter has gained so much more than performance skills by being involved with Gulfshore Playhouse,” said one parent. “Her communication skills have improved, along with life skills like creative problem solving, motivation and commitment.”

Steven Calakos, Director of Education at Gulfshore Playhouse, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming expansion with the Baker Theatre and Education Center. “Opening this October, our new facility marks a pivotal moment for Gulfshore Playhouse Education,” Calakos shared.
“We’re thrilled to broaden our educational offerings and welcome more students, both youth and adults, into our vibrant community.”

The brand new Baker Theatre and Education Center, located on the corner of Goodlette-Frank Road and First Avenue South, will not only serve as a hub for learning but also as a stage for creativity and professional growth. “Students participating in Anything Goes: Youth Edition will be the first to rehearse in our state-of-the-art Hertzog Hall and perform on the Moran Mainstage,” Calakos added. “They’ll share our sets with Broadway professionals and learn from top industry teaching artists, promising an unforgettable experience.”
