Theater education is expanding with the new home for Gulfshore Playhouse
One of Kristen Coury’s chief goals when founding the Gulfshore Playhouse in 2004 was to build a Tony Award-winning, regional theater that provided dedicated space for something near and dear to her heart, theatrical education.
Today, she is filled with anticipation awaiting the fall 2023 completion of the professional theater group’s new home, the Baker Theatre and Education Center, being constructed in the Naples Design District, at the corner of 1st Avenue South and Goodlette-Frank Road. The state-of-the-art facility will include a 350-seat theater with a Broadway-sized stage, a 125-seat studio theater and Struthers Hall, a combination rehearsal and event space, a lounge and gardens.
