Position Summary:
Gulfshore Playhouse, a prominent professional theatre company in Naples, Florida, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Maintenance Manager. This role is critical as we transition into our new, state-of-the-art Baker Theatre and Education Center, marking an exciting new chapter in our history. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and service-oriented individual with a strong background in facility maintenance and management.

Gulfshore Playhouse, which became a nationally recognized member of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) in 2022, offers a diverse season of straight plays and musicals. The Playhouse’s productions range from venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. Gulfshore Playhouse Baker Theatre and Education Center is a state-of-the-art facility featuring a 350-seat mainstage with a Broadway-sized stage, a 125-seat flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. Responsibilities:
- Facility Upkeep: Oversee the daily maintenance and repair of the theatre facilities, including the main stage, lobby, restrooms, and production shop offices.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment and building systems to minimize downtime and extend their lifespan.
- Emergency Repairs: Manage and respond promptly to emergency repair needs to ensure minimal disruption to performances and operations.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and installations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to local, state, and federal safety regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
- Team Supervision: Oversee and coordinate maintenance vendors for cleanliness and upkeep of the building.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring necessary items are stocked and replacements are ordered as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Prepare and present maintenance status reports to management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to schedule maintenance activities around events and performances, minimizing disruptions.
- Customer Service: Address facility-related concerns or complaints from patrons, staff, or performers with professionalism and efficiency.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant building codes, health regulations, and insurance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facility management and maintenance, preferably in a theatre or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, safety regulations, and budget management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage emergency repairs effectively and coordinate with vendors.
- Excellent organizational, supervisory, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and handle customer service concerns professionally.
Employment Details:
- Status: Full-time, year-round; Exempt from overtime
- Salary Range: $52,000 – $55,000 annually
- Start Date: December 16th, 2024
