John Perine

John Perine is a director, performer, playwright, and full-time Education Associate at Gulfshore Playhouse. John earned his BFA and MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences from Samford University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, respectively. Previous teaching artistry includes The Rose Theater (Omaha, NE), The Virginia Samford Theatre (Birmingham, AlL), and Lexington Children’s Theatre (Lexington, KY). Since arriving at Gulfshore Playhouse, John directed Conservatory productions of Finding Nemo JR. and Winnie the Pooh Kids (in partnership with the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples). Other directing credits include Peter and the Starcatcher (Finalist; Best Director of the Decade, Best Musical of the Decade / BroadwayWorld Birmingham), Kate DiCamillo’s Flora & Ulysses (North Carolina Theatre for Young People), and the world premiere of his play icarus x apollo (UNC Greensboro Centennial Fringe). www.johnperine.com
