Jay Aubrey Jones (Captain, u/s Elisha Whitney) is thrilled to be making his Gulfshore Playhouse debut. He has been seen on Broadway as Twimble and Womper in How to Succeed… and Old Deuteronomy in Cats. His Off-Broadway credits include David (AMT Theatre), A Child’s Christmas in Wales (Irish Repertory Theatre), Panama Hattie, Lolita, My Love, Take Me Along and Oh Captain! (York Theatre Company’s Musicals in Mufti Series). He made his Metropolitan Opera debut as the Crab Man in Porgy and Bess. His regional credits include Company (Larry, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina), MacGyver – The Musical (Helmut Heimlich – Stages Houston), Assassins (Bystander, Yale Repertory Theatre), The Drowsy Chaperone, Anything Goes and Gotham! (Underling, The Captain and The Tinker, Goodspeed Musicals), A Few Good Men (Colonel Randolph and Captain Whitaker, Bristol Riverside Theatre), and Boesman and Lena (Boesman – New Jersey Theatre Forum). Summer and Winter Stock audiences have seen him in Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Ezekiel Foster and Mr. Snoring Man – Bucks County Playhouse), To Kill a Mockingbird (Rev. Sykes – Mountain Playhouse), A Little Night Music (Mr. Lindquist – Seaside Music Theater), Amahl and the Night Visitors (King Balthazar – Surflight Theatre). His film and television credits include Shortcut to Happiness, “Only Murders in the Building,” “Bull,” “To Tell the Truth,” “Gotham,” and “The Michael J. Fox Show.” He is the voice behind the Laurel vs. Yanny Internet controversy and a graduate of Syracuse University Drama Department. Mr. Jones dedicates his performance to the memory of his dear friend Joseph Parra.
