Jay and Patty Baker: Power couple changing Naples, one building at a time

Everywhere they go in Naples, Jay and Patty Baker see their name on buildings and parks and theater stages.

Baker Park. Baker Museum. Baker Senior Center. Patty Baker Humane Society Naples. NCH Baker Orthopedic Center. And the list goes on and on.

Maybe they should start calling the city “Bakersville,” instead.

“That’s what we’re trying to do!” jokes Naples philanthropist Jay Baker.

He’s kidding, of course. He and his wife, Patty Baker, just want to make a difference in the city they love.

And they’re doing it one massive check at a time.

At the moment, the Naples power couple sits close together on a green couch in yet another Baker building, the brand-new Baker Theatre and Education Center, home of Gulfshore Playhouse.
