Front of House Manager

Gulfshore Playhouse, a not-for-profit, professional theatre company located in Naples, Florida,
is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented and experienced individual to serve as Front of House
Manager
.


Gulfshore Playhouse offers a diverse season of plays and musicals ranging from
venerated classics and Broadway hits to contemporary works and world premieres. The
Playhouse is passionately committed to producing high-quality, professional theatre that
exceeds the expectations of the cultured residents and visitors of Naples, FL, many of whom
are regular theatre patrons in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C.

Gulfshore Playhouse recently opened the Baker Theatre and Education Center, a
state-of-the-art facility, featuring a 368-seat Broadway-sized mainstage, a 125-seat
flexible space, rehearsal studios, classrooms, and rental space. In 2022,
Gulfshore Playhouse became nationally recognized as the 77th member of the League of
Resident Theatres (LORT). This is an extraordinarily exciting time for Gulfshore Playhouse,
which is experiencing unprecedented growth in a collaborative and creative community.

Status: Full time, year-round position

Start date: Candidates earliest availability

Representative Duties:
a.      Manages team of Gulfshore Playhouse volunteer ushers. 
b.      Recruit, train and schedule all volunteer ushers.
c.      Schedule periodic safety training for ushers.
d.      Create personalized ID badges for ushers.
e.      Facilitate usher recognition events.
f.       Serve as point of contact with local emergency service providers for Gulfshore
Playhouse.
g.      Serve as point of contact with Gulfshore Playhouse Facilities Manager and security
to maintain safe operations of the facility.
h.      Manage inventory and distribution of performance programs.
i.      Prepare and distribute Front of House reports.
j.     Communicate with stage manager when house is seated pre-show.
k.   Determine late seating in consultation with the stage manager.
l. Remain in communication with Stage Management throughout the performance.
m.    Provide services in a manner in accordance with the guidelines contained within Employer’s employee manual and style guide.
n.     Rendering such other services as may reasonably be required by Employer and
as are customarily furnished by a Front of House Manager at a first-class
professional theatrical organization in the United States.
o.     Attend performances and assist in supervising usher and patron operations at the
theatre.

The Front of House Manager reports to the General Manager.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would be a self-starter, able to manage a diverse corps of volunteer ushers
and the ability to provide a welcoming and seamless experience for the Playhouse patrons.
Gulfshore Playhouse values hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and grace-under-
pressure. The Front of House Manager will be expected to work extended hours when
necessary to meet goals.

Salary: Commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision insurance,
short and long-term disability, a 403(b) retirement plan and paid time off.
